The March Edition!
Only a few months until Race Week! We hope that you are all as excited as we are!
While you are busy training, we are busy planning Base Camps, meals, and pre-riding the trails, all to ensure you have the best BC Bike Race experience possible!
The race is filling up quickly, so if you have a teammate that hasn't registered yet, please let them know that the registration rate of $1899 will be going up to $2099 shortly.
Upgrades
Upgrades, including Solo Tents, Parking Passes, Support Team Meal Plans and Shuttle Passes will be available for sale on April 18, 2011. We only have a limited number of Solo Tent upgrades available due to available space at our Base Camps, so be sure to purchase one early if you plan to.
You will find the upgrades available here at 10am PST on April 18, 2011. You will need to be signed in to view the store and make purchases from it.
Preferred Hotels
Whether you are looking for hotel accommodations pre, post, or during Race Week, you can find a detailed list of preferred hotels and links here:
Preferred Hotels
Additionally The Pinnacle Hotel in North Vancouver will be providing secure bike storage for guests as well as a week long parking option for those of you driving in from out of town. Please contact the hotel directly for further details. Also providing week long parking is The Holiday Inn.
Campbell River
Here is a highlight of the trails that are waiting for you in Campbell River on Day Two:
Lost Frog - a classic trail to introduce you to the offerings of the Snowden!
Mudhoney Pass - another great trail in the Lost Lake area with a couple ups and fun downs leading down to a great view of the lake.
Riley Lake Trail - an old skid road from when the area was initially logged in the 1900s. This route is now rich, mossy and surrounded by second growth forest. It's Beautiful!
For more information on Day Two in Campbell River, visit our website or check out the Course Preview Video.
Safety First
You can check out our safety tips on our Safety Page. Included in this information are links to download smart phone apps to get your whereabouts should you find yourself off-course. While we've never had a lost racer, these apps are an excellent resource for any avid outdoors person and we recommend having them with you even on your training rides!
Ryder's Eyewear
The BCBR team took a field trip to the Ryders Eyewear factory to pick out this year's styles for racers. Two great styles were selected, including the HIJACK shown here.
The Ryders team wil be onsite during registration to help you pick out the right glasses for you!
Visit the Ryders website here.
